I’m Stephanie Lee, an independent consultant with over 20 years' experience across educational sectors.

Consulting on what matters to you

My Background

I am an independent consultant with over 20 years' experience across all educational sectors, with expert knowledge of higher education.

My clients are those who want to make an impact on the lives of the people they work with and drive meaningful change. It is a privilege to work with such organisations so they can can achieve even greater impact.

What can I do for you?

Does your current strategy meet policy requirements?

Keeping up with policy changes and the impact this has on your strategy and day-to-day delivery can be a job in itself. I will help your organisation understand the impact of policy changes and how your strategy and activities can develop to respond to new requirements.

Want to know how your delivery compares with peer organisations?

Knowing what other organisations are doing is an excellent way to ensure your delivery is current and to stimulate new ideas. I will provide comprehensive reports summarising sector practice to review and develop your delivery.

Planning to introduce a new programme?

Having clear outcomes and a robust evidence-base will ensure your programmes deliver meaningful outcomes for participants and achieve your objectives. I will work with you to develop clear logic models, such as Theories of Change, for your programmes.

Is your governance structure meeting your needs?

Developments in strategy and policy can necessitate changes in governance structures and committee roles and responsibilities. I will review your governance arrangements and make recommendations so that future structures support and enable the continuous development and monitoring of key strategy areas.

I will support you to find solutions that are evidence-led, reflect best practice and are a good fit for your organisation. Here are some examples of the areas of work I can support with.

Testimonials

"Stephanie did an outstanding job here at LSE working for 18 months as a strategic project manager in the Widening Participation team. During a time of great change for the team, she brought her significant sector knowledge and insight and quickly got up to speed to be able to lead on the day to day delivery of our Access and Participation Plan work, with minimal supervision.

She built strong trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand the institutional context and worked collaboratively across a wide range of teams to deliver our APP monitoring, variation and reporting. Stephanie was super organised, diligent, and never afraid to tackle the "wicked problems."

Jess Bond, Head of Widening Participation, LSE

"Stephanie's strengths are her collaborative instincts and her capacity to work with colleagues across borders in search of solutions to shared problems. As an academic, I found her understanding of higher education to be outstanding throughout the decade or so that we worked together at the University of Manchester. She is sensitive to issues that affect academic identity and practice, but also motivated by a steely determination to open up the university campus to historically marginalised groups.

She is adept at working with colleagues on cross-institutional strategies, such as contextual admissions, and at challenging our views where appropriate. Stephanie tackles complex issues with clarity and confidence, uses data critically, and draws upon academic research to evidence her recommendations. She knows the sector inside out, and fully understands policy direction and management trends."
